Introduction
When you’re in need of drain and sewer services, several factors come into play. This is especially true when commercial pipe systems are involved. No two commercial systems are designed the same, just like no two commercial buildings are built the same way. Hiring a well-trained, flexible, and knowledgeable team to handle complicated jobs is essential to doing a quick, cost-efficient, and accurate job the first time. When you need commercial drain and sewer work, think Advanced Pipe Repair.

Drain and Sewer Service Overview
When you contact the Advanced Pipe Repair (APR) team, you can trust that we will do everything possible to get your company back in the business of making money. Our expertly-trained technicians will arrive quickly to get the job started. The first step we’ll undertake involves a thorough inspection of your main drain lines, secondary drain lines, branch lines, and sewer lines. We want to get a clear picture so that we can advise you what we expect to do, how much it will cost, and how quickly we can complete it. At APR, we believe in completing trenchless repairs whenever possible.
Video Inspections

Before we look at trenchless repair techniques, let’s take a moment to explore how the APR team approaches inspections. As you’ve read, our team begins every job with a thorough inspection of your pipes and drains. In many cases, the openings are too small for humans to access. Whenever possible, an expert from our team will complete a camera inspection. We will insert a video camera into your pipes to assess the issue at hand. We will also note any related, unrelated, or potential future issues. It’s our SOP to address any issues keeping your water from flowing smoothly. Once the video inspection has been completed, your company will receive a written explanation of our results, a recommended service plan, and other documentation. In many cases, you can use these documents to begin the insurance claims process, if applicable.

Trenchless Repairs Made Simple
While sewer and plumbing lines are nothing new, the approach to handling issues has changed dramatically over the last few years. In the past, pipe work meant a mess before, during, and after. This happened because the crew who arrived to complete the work would need to dig to locate your pipes. This added extra time, energy, cost, and cleanup requirements. Advanced Pipe Repair uses no-dig technologies to analyze and repair your drain and sewer lines. The primary technique we use is called Cured-in-Place Piping or CIPP. We’ll dig into that a bit more later.
Cured-in-place Piping (CIPP)

When a repair project can be completed without digging, our team will attempt to use CIPP to address the problems. CIPP is not a pipe replacement process–it’s a pipe-strengthening process. With CIPP, the damaged sections of pipe found during the inspection process are repaired. To do this, a certified plumber will insert a liner inside the damaged section of pipe. The liner and the pipe will be bonded together with resins and cured using ambient temperature, heat, or light-emitting diode (LED)/ultraviolet (UV) lights. Once the work has been completed, the newly strengthened pipe is guaranteed for at least five years.

Sewer Pipes Can Freeze But We Address Them
As the calendar shifts from summer to fall, we will soon be faced with freezing temperatures that can cause major damages. One of the risks that will increase involves frozen sewer pipes. Once the temperature drops below 32 degrees Fahrenheit, water can freeze inside your pipes. This can prevent water from flowing into or out of your pipes. The secondary problem occurs when the pipes thaw–often leading to cracked pipes that will burst or leak–leaving an incredible mess that needs to be cleaned up immediately.
When you schedule a pipe inspection from Advanced Pipe Repair in the summer months, our team can identify and repair failing pipes before they fail. Of course, there are unexpected deep freezes and situations that cannot be anticipated. As the winter months roll around, keep the following steps in mind to prevent a frozen pipe problem:
- Service your water heater earlier in the year. There’s no worse time for your commercial pipes to fail than in the cold. Cold employees are unhappy employees.
- Know where the shut-off valve(s) are located. Be able to stop water from getting pressurized in frozen pipes.
- Be sure that you have sufficient insulation for pipes, especially if frozen pipes are common.
- Let pipes drip a little. Leaving your pipes open will reveal if a pipe has frozen.
- Act quickly to keep snow, ice, and frost away from your pipes.
