How No-Dig Pipe Repair Works

If you own a business, you understand the challenges involved in keeping things moving. Depending on the size of your business, the challenges may be larger and more complex. The last problem that you want to deal with involves your pipe system. Sadly, pipes will fail and require immediate repair to avoid messier results. Traditionally, commercial pipe repairs have required messy, time-consuming, and expensive trench-based work. What about no-dig repairs? Here’s how a no-dig pipe repair project works.

What is No-Dig Pipe Repair?

No-dig repair, sometimes referred to as CIPP, is a way of completing pipe repairs cleanly, quickly, and safely. CIPP (Cured-in-Place Piping) allows certified plumbers to access damaged sections of pipe at the source. CIPP strengthens the damaged sections of pipe by installing mesh or vinyl liners inside. These revitalized sections of pipe are bonded together with specialized resins. Once cured, CIPP repairs are guaranteed to last for 50 years or more! The curing process is the longest part of CIPP–it can take a day or longer, depending on the level of repairs required.

Ultraviolet CIPP is Even Better!

While CIPP repairs have become the industry standard for no-dig repairs, there’s an even better method to use. Ultraviolet CIPP, also known as UV CIPP, takes CIPP to another level. The same basic processes take place, but it uses more advanced technology. UV CIPP utilizes cameras, robot machines, and skilled plumbers to get the work done from outside the pipe. The installer will deploy an automated machine into the impacted pipe and complete the work from aboveground. When we use a robotic process, there is less waste and less risk of damage to the pipe systems involved. As the pipe and resins cure, UV lighting is used at a rate of 7 meters in 7 minutes. This allows pipes to get back to normal even faster and to have a more extended lifespan.
