Have you looked into trenchless pipe technology? These no dig repairs provide a relatively quick and easy way to return your pipes to working order. Most pipe repair methods require digging a trench to reach the pipes. So how do no dig repairs work?

No Dig Repairs

The wonderful thing about no dig repairs is that you won’t see any evidence of the repair process after the pipe specialists leave your building. Of course, you’ll notice that the flooding is gone, or that the water pressure is back, or that there are no more leaks in the basement. What you won’t notice is torn-up landscaping or demolished sidewalks.

Step One: Look for the Word “Trenchless”

If you’re looking specifically for no dig repairs, you’ll need to find a company that specializes in trenchless technology. “Trenchless” means that this company never or rarely digs to reach the pipe problems. Instead, they’ll access the pipe above ground and make repairs from there.

Step Two: Video Camera Inspection

How do repair workers know where to find the problem if they don’t dig? They use a video camera inspection. Your repair specialists will find an above-ground access point such as a manhole. Then they’ll use a video camera to search for leaks, root invasions, or other sources of damage. Advanced Pipe Repair will review the footage with you and provide you with your own copy before moving on to the next step and beginning your no dig repairs.

Step Three: Repair the Pipe

The next step depends on the method that you and your repair team have chosen for your pipes. Usually, pipe relining or CIPP can solve the issue. Whether you need to fix a specific problem or reinforce an aging pipeline, this method efficiently gets the job done. The repair team will either push or pull a CIPP liner or other type of liner through the existing pipe. At the end of the process, the pipe is stronger and runs better. In rare cases, the pipe damage is beyond what CIPP can fix. If that’s the case, you may not have to resort to digging just yet. One method called pipe bursting may work for you. With pipe bursting, the repair team replaces the broken pipes with an entirely new set. Best of all, this method also requires no digging.
